Welcome to the Doll Hospital!

Mary Watts is a talented and experienced doll artist with over 30 years in business repairing/restoring dolls and as a doll maker and teacher.  She has the ability to create and fashion her own designs of porcelain dolls and outfits.  Her experience as a doll maker gives her the ability required to repair and restore your dolls to a professional quality that is hard to find in the doll-repair market.   To the right you can see an example of her talent in recreating this reproduction of the original antique doll dress.

We invite you to visit us...

We welcome you to come down and visit us any time we are open! Perhaps you would like to bring your doll to show us first-hand? Maybe you are insterested in our classes and would like to see the work-area? Feel free to come by and see what we have to offer!

Do you have any questions?

We're sure you do. Here are some frequently asked questions to get you started. Is your question not answered here? Just give us a call or drop by to ask. We don't bite!

  • What are your price ranges for repair?

    • This depends entirely on the damage and repair required. This is something we will need to talk about, and it helps to actually see the doll. Bring it by so we can take a look and we will tell you everything we can.

    • For those collectors out there, we only fix what needs to be fixed. We strive to maintain the integrity of the doll by doing only what is necessary for the repair. What does this mean? We won't change anything you don't want changed. Antique dolls and bears have a character and quality that can't be replaced or "improved." We don't want to create something new, but to bring something back as close to the original as possible.

  • How long will it take before I get my doll back?

    • Again, this depends entirely on the damage. However, it is best to expect a few months. If you have a deadline or event you need your doll by, let us know and we will do what we can to accomidate you.

  • How much do your classes cost?

    • TBA

  • Can you teach me how to fix my own doll?

    • Yes! If that's what you would like to learn in our class, we personalize the class to what you would like to do. Mary teaches each person one-on-one, so you learn at your own pace and with what you feel comfortable with.

  • What are the scheduled times and dates for your classes?

    • Please contact us and we will work with you to schedule a perfect time and date for your classes that will work with your personal schedule and needs.

  • Do you repair doll clothes?

    • Yes, we can repair clothes as well as the doll itself.

  • Can you fix porcelain statues?

    • Yes, we can also repair porcelain statues. For painted details that you fear will be lost in restoration, we also have a professional fine artist in house that has been professionally trained by artists from Rome, Italy. We will do everything in our power to restore your art pieces to how you remember them. (Of course, reference images are always helpful for this.) If you would like references, check our "Gallery," which we update regularly.

  • Did you guys move recently?

    • YES! Just last year, we were across the street from we are located now. Today, our shop is located next to the antique shop Not Too Shabby!
